Privacy Policy

Talkaside runs on your computer. There is no account, no sign-in and no server of ours that your conversations pass through. This page describes exactly what stays local, what leaves your machine, and the one small record the licence server keeps.
What never leaves your computer
- Call recordings and transcripts, and the local call history database. When recording is on, the app writes an audio file of the call to your disk and keeps it, together with the transcript, until you delete that call. A saved recording can be transcribed again later, on your machine, at your request.
- Your CV, job descriptions and any other context you load.
- Voice profiles for local voice cloning.
- Your settings and your provider API keys. Keys are stored encrypted and can only be read by your own Windows account.
We do not collect usage statistics, crash reports or telemetry of any kind. Nothing in this list is uploaded anywhere by the app.
What does leave your computer
The product is not fully offline, and we would rather say so plainly than imply otherwise. During a call:
- Call audio goes to your speech recognition provider — Deepgram or Google — to be turned into text.
- The transcript, and the CV or job context you loaded, goes to the translation and AI providers you select.
- If you press the screen-capture shortcut, one picture of your screen at that moment goes to the same AI provider with your question. Nothing is captured unless you press it. The picture is never written to disk — it is held in memory for at most a minute and then discarded.
- If you ask for company research, the text of the job description goes to a web search service. Nothing from the call goes with it.
All of this runs on your own accounts and your own API keys. The data travels from your machine directly to those providers; it does not pass through us, and we never see it or hold it. Your relationship with each provider is governed by that provider's own terms and privacy policy, so choose the ones you are comfortable with.
What the licence server records
The only service we operate is licence activation. When the app activates it identifies the machine with an anonymous identifier, and the server stores:
- that anonymous identifier, which cannot be turned back into anything about your computer;
- the date the licence was activated and the date it ends.
That is the whole record. No name, no email address, no payment details and no content of any kind. Your IP address is seen transiently by the hosting layer to rate-limit abusive requests and is not written to the activation database.
The purpose is narrow and the legal basis is our legitimate interest in it: making sure a five-day demo is used once per machine, and that a purchased licence runs on the machine it was issued for.
This website
These pages are static. There are no analytics, no trackers, no advertising and no cookies. The site is served by Cloudflare, which processes request metadata such as IP address to deliver and protect it.
Recording other people
The app can record calls. Whether you may record a conversation, and whether you must tell the other participants, depends on where you and they are. That responsibility is yours — please see the Terms.
Your rights, and how to reach us
Because we hold no personal data beyond the activation record described above, there is very little for us to disclose or delete — but if you want your activation record removed, or you have any question about this policy, write to us on Telegram. Deleting an activation record frees the demo for that machine.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that affects what we handle, the date at the top of this page changes with it.
